Antero Resources (NYSE – AR) is an independent natural gas and liquids company operating in the Appalachian Basin focused on developing the Marcellus and Utica shale formations. It is one of the largest US suppliers of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas to the global export market. Antero has a publicly traded midstream affiliate, Antero Midstream (NYSE – AM), which operates critical infrastructure to gather and process the gas and liquids, handle water as part of field operations and access the most attractive products markets. Yorktown successfully invested with the management team in a prior company.
