Concho Resources was an independent oil and natural gas company that primarily acquired and developed oil and natural gas properties. Yorktown invested with the management team on three successive occasions. It was headquartered in Midland, Texas, with operations exclusively in the Permian Basin. The company was publicly listed in 2007 and became a leading developer in the core of the Northern Delaware Basin.

Concho was acquired by ConocoPhillips (NYSE – COP) in 2021, creating one of the largest independent exploration and production companies in the US based on production and proved reserves.
